More advanced use of the HydroDCS requires logging in as one of the privileged user roles.

Advanced uses include configuring reports, managing system settings, updating data feeds, and other settings of the HydroDCS.


There are two privileged roles:

  • Operator - this is the lower of the two user roles. It mainly allows for the configuration of reports. Though it also allows a greater view into system details and settings, with some access to uploads and process control.
  • Controller - the more privileged of the two user roles. The controller has access to all functions of the Operator while also having access to mange system settings, and other operational configurations. It is important for this user to have familiarity with OpendDCS as it is needed to configure the HydroDCS to operate with data feeds
