Set Timezone

The API and reports associate a timestamp with each data value.  By default, the timezone will be UTC, but this can be changed using this feature.

NOTE - this only impacts the display of the data and not its storage

Sync Timezone with Navy NTP Servers

In order to function properly, the HydroDCS needs to have an accurate system time.  You can sync this time to the publicly available Navy NTP (Network Time Protocol) servers utilizing this toggle switch.
NOTE - Depending how far off the HydroDCS timestamp is, it can take a long time for the time on the HydroDCS to sync properly.  To avoid long wait times, you can set the system time manually on the Edit Settings page, and then sync the timezone to keep the system time synced.

Manually Set System Time

In order to function properly, the HydroDCS needs to have an accurate system time.  If the system time is incorrect, it can manually be set using this feature.

NOTE - The system time for the HydroDCS should always be GMT, so take that into account if you are using this feature.

Set Time Display Format

The reports can display time in different formats.  You can set the time format for all reports here.

HydroDCS Identifier

The value of this field is the identifier for the leftmost menu item in the main menu.  By default, it is "HydroDCS".  This is a useful feature for organizations with multiple HydroDCS units.  For example, if users need to know if they are looking at the HydroDCS at the Hoover Dam, or the HydroDCS at the Grand Coulee Dam, this is an easy way to solve that problem.

Reset Decodes Every Day

THIS FEATURE IS DEPRECATED - This forces the data collection processes on the HydroDCS to reset themselves once per day.  This was a feature that was originally necessary; however, it is not needed anymore.  It has been deprecated and will eventually be removed.

Restart Decodes if Down every

THIS FEATURE IS DEPRECATED - If enabled, the HydroDCS will monitor the internal data collection and visualization processes.  If any of those processes are down, it will restart all of the monitored processes.  It will continue monitoring, but if any processes are down, it will not restart them until the allotted time (the user set value) has gone by since the last restart.  This feature has been deprecated and will eventually be removed.

Retain audit log entries for

The audit log entries are only retained for a certain period of time.  That period of time is the value that is set here.

Retain time series values for

The time series values are only retained for a certain period of time.  That period of time is the value that is set here.

Remove Empty Timeseries

Over time, for various reasons, there may be timeseries's on the HydroDCS that are no longer populating.  These timeseries's may, or may not, add confusion and extra work for users, so there is an option to remove empty timeseries's from the HydroDCS.  If this feature is enabled, empty timeseries's will not be removed immediately.  It can take up to two days to remove an empty timeseries.

Delayed Data Threshold

Reports that mark semi-late, overdue, or delayed data may use this as the threshold for considering data to be delayed. Used for setting timeliness alert icons.

Note - Value is age in hours

Late Data Threshold

Reports that mark late data may use this as the threshold for considering data to be late. Used for setting timeliness alert icons

Note-Value is age in hours
