Controlling HydroDCS Processes
There are several processes that run on the HydroDCS. Many of these are automated, but there are some controls that have been implemented to give users the ability to control these processes.
Must be logged in as controller to manage these processes
Using the profile drop-down, navigate to "Controller > Manage Processes".
OpenDCS Processes
As the HydroDCS relies on the OpenDCS for many of its functions, some of the critical processes of the OpenDCS and be monitored and managed from here.
The status of each process is indicated by a button next to the process name, and will be in one of three states:
- Running - green button, the process is running currently in a good state. Clicking this button will stop the process
- Warning - orange button, indicates a problem with the process.Such as the process is not running but the lock is present. Clicking will stop the process and clear the locks
- Stopped - red button, the process is not currently running and the locks are absent. Clicking will restart the process.
NOTE - if restarting the process does not resolve the issue either consult the OpenDCS user interface or your system administrator.
Below is a brief overview for these processes for more details see the OpdenDCS user guide under help.
Routing Scheduler
Computation Processes
One of the two processes for the OpenDCS computational processor. Needed to process incoming data into usable timeseries.
Computation Dependencies
The other process supporting the OpenDCS computational processor. Supports the use of site groups and dependencies for data conversion.
