There is a downloads page on the HydroDCS.  These downloads include, but are not limited to, the OpenDCS client application, configuration files for the OpenDCS application, and firmware files.

NOTE - Certain downloads are only available to operators and controllers.  If you don't see a certain download, it could be that you are not logged in as the proper user.

Below is a description of some of the downloads:

OpenDCS Client

This is a downloadable application that can run on Windows and Linux environments.  It is the client side application that configures OpenDCS on the HydroDCS.  For more information on OpenDCS, you can view the documentation here.

Firmware

These are software updates that are put out to update, improve, expand the functionality of the HydroDCS.  This will link to a website where you can download the firmware.  Once downloaded, you can update the HydroDCS via the Firmware Upgrade page.

decodes.properties file

This is the file that is used by the OpenDCS client software to connect and configure OpenDCS on the HydroDCS.

This download requires more than just clicking the download button.  Because there are 4 different Ethernet ports on the HydroDCS, you need to select the one that you will be connecting to the HydroDCS with.  For most cases, it will be the first port ().  Selecting the correct port is important, as it will put the corresponding IP Address into the decodes.properties file.
NOTE - you can always change the values of the decodes.properties file through the OpenDCS client.  This download is just to give you a quick and easy way to connect to OpenDCS on the HydroDCS.  Once you have the OpenDCS Client downloaded, place this file in the root directory of the OpenDCS client (by default, on Windows this is C:\OPENDCS).  Then, run the OpenDCS client and it should load the decodes.properties file.  You can verify that it has loaded by clicking the Setup button and viewing the properties.  For more information on OpenDCS, you can view the documentation here.

LddsConnections file

This file is similar to the decodes.properties file, but it is used to connect to the LRGS on the HydroDCS.  You need to select the Ethernet port that you will be connecting to the HydroDCS with (in most cases it is the first one - ), and then click download.  Once downloaded, you can place it in the root directory of the OpenDCS client (by default, on Windows this is C:\OPENDCS).  When you open the OpenDCS client, you can click the LRGS Status button and then click the Host drop-down.  Here you will see the connection from the LddsConnections file.  For more information on OpenDCS and LRGS, you can view the documentation here.

.decodes.auth file

This is another file that is important to use the OpenDCS client.  This file contains the encrypted username and password that the OpenDCS client will use to connect to the OpenDCS on the HydroDCS.  Once downloaded, you can place it in the root directory of the OpenDCS client (by default, on Windows this is C:\OPENDCS).  You can then run the OpenDCS client and click the "DECODES Database Editor" button.  For more information on OpenDCS, you can view the documentation here.

NOTE - You will only be able to connect to the HydroDCS through an OpenDCS client if the decodes.properties file is correct and if the .decodes.auth file is correct.  If you cannot connect, there is either an issue with one of these files or a connection between the client and HydroDCS.

Others

There may be other downloads on the HydroDCS downloads page that are not listed here.
